MELBOURNE has delisted Jake Melksham, making a commitment to re-select the forward via the AFL Rookie Draft next month.
The Demons shared their intentions ahead of the AFL’s first list lodgement on Tuesday and will look to have the experienced Melksham re-join their list for the 2024 season.
It will mark Melksham’s 15th season at the elite level, and ninth year in the red and blue, following another strong campaign in 2023.
The 32-year-old played a significant role for the Demons this year, tallying 13 senior games and kicking 20 goals, before suffering a devastating knee injury in the final game of the home-and-away season.
Melksham has since undergone surgery and is currently working through his rehabilitation.
The AFL Rookie Draft will be held on Wednesday 22 November, following two days of National Draft activity.
