THREE Demons will be looking to prove their fitness ahead of Narrm’s match against West Coast on Sunday.
Aimee Mackin and Sinead Goldrick both came from the ground during the club’s clash against Adelaide last weekend, with Sam Batterton, AFLW Head of High-Performance, providing an update on the duo.
“They both came off with lateral ankle sprains at different points in the game,” Batterton told Narrm Media.
“Aimee returned to the ground, whereas Goldie didn’t as it was right in the last few minutes of the game.
“They’ve both pulled up pretty well and will get into training towards the backend of the week.
“If all things go to plan, they should be okay.”
Lauren Pearce was the third Demon of concern during Round 6, with the ruck injuring her shoulder during the first half.
“Loz suffered an AC joint sprain in the second quarter, so she spent a period of time off the ground but returned to the game and finished it out,” Batterton said.
“She’s pulled up pretty sore, so she’ll also get moving at the back end of this week and will be a test ahead of this weekend’s game.”
Paxy Paxman, who missed last weekend’s clash due to a concussion, will remain in protocols for Round 7.
“She sustained a concussion at the start of last week,” Batterton said.
“She’s began the concussion protocols and is feeling a lot better but will still miss this week and will look to be available the following week.”
