MATCH PREVIEW:
Arguably one of the biggest rivalries in AFLW history, Melbourne and Adelaide will add to their long-standing history, facing each other at Casey Fields on Saturday, with the winner set to claim top spot on the ladder.

Saturday’s match will mark the 10th meeting of the two teams with both sides currently undefeated in 2023, setting the scene for what is sure to be a pressure-filled contest.

The Crows will be looking for redemption following their qualifying final loss to Melbourne in 2022, while the Dees will be hoping to continue their winning streak, currently holding the league record of 14 consecutive victories.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Melbourne
Tahlia Gillard
An often-unsung hero, Gillard has produced commanding defensive performances throughout 2023, following a breakout campaign in season seven.

The tall defender has been tasked with some of the league’s top forwards and has managed to restrict their impact in front of goals, challenging them both aerially and at ground level. She currently sits at second in the league for average spoils (4.6).

PLAYER TO WATCH: Adelaide
Danielle Ponter
Undoubtably one of Adelaide’s most prominent players of 2023, Ponter is the Crows’ energy in their forward half.

With quick skills and incredible goal awareness, the 23-year-old has shown that she can be a livewire inside 50. She’s kicked eight goals across the five games this year, while also averaging 12 disposals and five score involvements.
