TAYLA Harris and Sammie Johnson will both face fitness tests in the lead up to Melbourne’s top-of-the-table clash against Adelaide on Saturday.
Harris was ruled out of Round 5 after sustaining a minor hamstring strain, while Sammie Johnson has been on the sidelines for three weeks with a calf injury.
Sam Batterton, AFLW Head of High-Performance, provided an update on the duo following Tuesday’s training.
“Tayla missed last week with a low-grade hamstring injury,” Batterton said.
“She’ll look to hit her top speed on Thursday and train with the group.
“If she gets through fine, she’ll be available for selection in Round 6.
“Likewise with Sammie, she’s in the final stages of her rehab and will full train on Thursday with the aim to be available for selection.”
