DOMINANT Melbourne midfielder Christian Petracca has been recognised for his outstanding season to date, being named in this year's AFL All-Australian team.

The full line-up of 22 was revealed on Wednesday night at the AFL Awards, with Petracca donning his fourth consecutive blazer, following selections in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

The 27-year-old’s nomination on the half-forward flank recognises the critical role he’s played this year for Melbourne, adopting a hybrid playstyle, and impacting in multiple areas of the ground.

The star Demon is averaging 27.9 disposals this season while also booting 27 goals, not to mention his pivotal importance to team football, averaging a league high 8.6 score involvements.

Petracca is now the third most capped Demon ever, behind skipper Max Gawn (six selections) and AFLW Demon Paxy (five selections).

Whilst missing out on the 22, Jack Viney was also recognised for his impressive season, named in the 44-man squad on Monday.

During the AFL Awards, Petracca was also recognised by the AFL Coaches' Association, placing fourth in the Champion Player of the Year Award.
