MELBOURNE has delisted four more players, bringing the total to seven so far since the end of the 2016 season.
Key forward Chris Dawes, midfielders Ben Newton and Viv Michie and big man Max King have been delisted.
They join former co-captain Jack Grimes, utility Matt Jones and defender-turned-forward Dean Terlich as other recent players to depart Melbourne.
Dawes played 50 matches for Melbourne from 2013-16, after notching up 71 games with Collingwood from 2008-12.
Melbourne’s leading goalkicker in 2014, Dawes came to the red and blue as a premiership player with Collingwood.
He was a member of Collingwood’s drawn Grand Final and then its subsequent win over St Kilda in the 2010 Grand Final replay – now the last of its kind, after the AFL abolished drawn Grand Finals earlier this year.
Dawes was also a member of Collingwood’s pre-season flag in 2011.
Newton played 13 matches at Melbourne from 2015-16 after playing four games with Port Adelaide in 2014.
Michie, who played one game for Fremantle in 2013, played 21 matches for Melbourne from 2014-16.
King had three seasons on Melbourne’s rookie list, but the forward/ruckman did not play a game, although he played two pre-season matches.
