THANKS to Major Partner Zurich Insurance and their community mental health program Tackle Your Feelings, every goal kicked by a Melbourne player during the 2023 AFLW season will directly benefit local football clubs.

Footy equipment packs will be donated to community clubs, including junior size footballs, ball bag, and training bibs, in an initiative designed to give back to grassroots level footy.

First launched ahead of the 2021 season, the Goals for Good initiative should give some extra motivation to the Demons to convert on the scoreboard.

Linda Griffin, Head of Brand, Marketing & Corporate Affairs, Zurich Australia & New Zealand, is thrilled to support both community level clubs and the AFLW Demons.

“We’re incredibly proud of our annual Goals for Good initiative, it’s one of the highlights of our partnership with the Dees,” Linda said.

“It provides an opportunity for Zurich and Tackle Your Feelings to give back to community AFL clubs across Australia.”

Zurich has long been a proud supporter of women’s sport, particularly of the junior teams and pathways to AFL and AFLW.

“We’re passionate about investing in, and supporting women’s sport, so through this initiative we aim to encourage participation at grassroots level and inspire the future generation of players.

“Each season, the Dees have increased their goal scoring, so we’re hopeful that Goals for Good again provides an incentive to kick more majors!”

Zurich is not only donating footy kits, but also raising awareness of mental health in sport.

Tackle Your Feelings is a free mental health training program for local footy clubs and coaches, funded by the Z Zurich Foundation and Zurich Australia.

The program provides coaches and participants with the tools and resources to understand, recognise and manage their response to signs of mental ill-health within their players.
