Club legend Ron Barassi was on hand last week to help launch the Casey Demons Supporter Group at the Settlement Hotel in Cranbourne.

In what Chris Connolly described as a ‘historic occasion’, over 150 guests braved an icy Cranbourne morning to celebrate the Melbourne Football Club’s presence in Melbourne’s outer south-east.

Connolly and Debbie Lee - the Club’s Community Manager - outlined the Club’s vision to develop an elite training campus at Casey Fields, and detailed the extensive community programs that will engage the Casey community.

As the Club’s No.1 ticket holder, Barassi was particularly excited to learn more of the opportunity that exists for the Demons to make the City of Casey their own.

The Casey Demons – whose committee is headed by local Melbourne fanatic Lisa Schreurs – will be conducting a range of events throughout the year for Melbourne supporters, and eventually plan to run bus trips to games at the MCG.
