VICTORIOUS Viney stood up when it mattered, topping this week’s AFLCA Votes for Round 13, with solid Melbourne defenders and the usual suspects all polling well as Melbourne took home four points.
It was the rightful Neale Daniher trophy winner, Jack Viney who polled flawlessly with ten votes, topping the King’s Birthday leaderboard.
It was a dominant display from our vice-captain, who finished the day with 32 disposals, nine clearances, 11 tackles, 19 contested possessions and a goal to his name.
Viney asserted himself into the history books as best on ground, with a game-winning clearance which secured Melbourne the win.
It was a textbook backline showcase with Steven May polling seven votes, finishing the day with 18 disposals, eight intercept possessions, 438 metres gained, all with 100% time on ground.
Christian Salem was next on the voting ladder with a solid four votes. Salem finished the game with 24 disposals at 83% efficiency, 10 marks and nine intercept possessions, proving why he deserved four votes.
Max Gawn and Bayley Fritsch were next up with two votes each. Gawn finished the game with 15 disposals at 93% efficiency and 26 hit outs with Fritsch finishing the game as top goal kicker with three goals and shared the love with seven score involvements.
Finally, Christian Petracca rounded out the voting with one vote. Petracca finished the day with 28 disposals, 15 contested possessions and six score involvements earned Petracca his one vote for the day.
