FORMER Melbourne interim coach Neil Craig has moved on from the club.
Craig, who started at Melbourne as the director of sports performance at the end of the 2011 season, stepped up to coach the Demons during the 2013 season, when Neeld departed the club.
Craig took on the Demons in tough circumstances, coaching them in the final 11 matches of the 2013 season, registering one win.
Melbourne CEO Peter Jackson said: “With the appointment of an experienced senior coach in Paul Roos, the role of ‘director of sports performance’ has become redundant, and Neil will not be a part of the coaching structure in 2014.”
“Neil stepped up to the role of senior coach for the remaining 11 games of the season and the influence he’s had on the playing group will have a lasting effect on them.
“He always showed great passion for the Club. Neil is a man of integrity and we thank him for his two years of service and wish him well for the future.”
Craig previously coached Adelaide from 2004-11.
He guided the Crows in 166 matches – the most in the club’s history.
