THE HIGHLY anticipated King’s Birthday clash between Melbourne and Collingwood has officially sold out.
The AFL confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that General Public tickets were sold out for the clash on Monday 12 June, the game now fully ticketed with no further tickets to be released.
With the match fully ticketed, this means that there will be no general admission Club Member scans for the game - all eligible members will have needed to upgrade to a reserved seat to access the venue.
Reserved seat Club Members will still be able to attend the game using their current membership.
With tickets now sold out, the King’s Birthday match is set to be one of the largest home-and-away matches in history.
The two clubs have played in the public holiday marquee game every year since 2001 (barring 2020), with the biggest attendance for the fixture being 83,518 in 2018.
The Demons and the Pies still hold the record for the largest home-and-away game in AFL history, with a remarkable 99,256 people attending the MCG in 1958.
The public holiday match, previously Queen’s Birthday, is also host to the Big Freeze. The two clubs will again come together in support of Neale Daniher and his fight against motor neurone disease, this year marking the ninth edition.
