TEGAN Cunningham has challenged a two-match penalty that was handed to her by the Match Review Officer for an incident in Sunday’s clash with Brisbane and will face the AFLW Tribunal on Tuesday night.
The key forward was sighted for two separate incidents during Melbourne’s 39-point win over the Lions in Round 3.
Cunningham was offered a two-match suspension for striking Brisbane defender Shannon Campbell during the third quarter, but she will be looking to avoid sanction when she fronts the tribunal panel.
The 31-year-old has accepted a reprimand for an earlier act of rough conduct with Campbell in the second-quarter of Sunday’s game.
