AINSLIE Kemp says she can’t wait to get stuck into pre-season training, given she’s never completed a full on.
The new Melbourne recruit, who was the club’s 11th pick and selected at No.88 in the recent AFL Women’s Draft, said she was “so excited” at starting her career with the red and blue.
“I’m so excited. I’ve never had a proper pre-season before and I’m so excited to see what everyone’s capabilities are once they start training the way the boys do,” she told Melbourne TV.
“Looking at the academy that we had last summer, we definitely saw a massive improvement in the girls’ skills and fitness.
“I just can’t imagine what it’s going to be next year, which is going to be amazing.”
Kemp said it was great to have fellow Victoria University Western Spurs teammates also join the club.
“Sarah Lampard, Alyssa Mifsud and Shell Scott are going to be a great addition to the team. Everyone will be able to gel together really easily,” she said.
A forward/midfielder, Kemp is a good mark and is capable of kicking long distances.
