WHEN James Magner pulled on his footy boots as a junior at the Beaconsfield Football Club, he never dreamed of returning to the club as an AFL footballer.

Returning to his old stomping ground to launch the Demon Friendly Clubs program, Magner relished the opportunity to give back to the football club that moulded him into the footballer he is today.

Magner, Jordie McKenzie and 1300 junior footballers celebrated the launch of the program by giving away Melbourne guernseys and football tickets.

Magner said, “Some of my favourite memories are from my junior days at Beaconsfield Football Club, and I think it’s awesome that clubs like ours are investing in junior football through the Demon Friendly Club program. It’s strange being back here signing autographs, when I used to be the one asking for them.”
