MELBOURNE will unveil two new names on Saturday night, with Judd McVee and Bailey Laurie set to make their AFL debuts.
The pair were informed of their selections on Wednesday afternoon; teammates Christian Salem and Charlie Spargo sharing the exciting news in front of the playing group at Casey Fields.

It comes after a strong and consistent pre-season on the track, with the two also impressing in the Demons’ recent practice matches.
McVee, who joined the Dees via the AFL Rookie Draft in 2021, will bring plenty of class to the line-up, regarded for his composure and confidence around the ball.
The 19-year-old has a never-say-die attitude and, with his assured decision-making, has the ability to inspire others around him.
For Laurie, the opportunity follows an eventful couple of years, having first joined Melbourne at the end of 2020.
The first-round selection suffered some injury concerns in his initial season but went on to play 19 matches for the Casey Demons in 2022, maturing and developing each and every week.
The 20-year-old, who was pushing for selection late last year, is expected to add power around the contest for Melbourne, while showcasing his classy ball use and elite decision-making.
Experienced recruits Brodie Grundy and Lachie Hunter were also informed on Wednesday that they would be joining the duo in pulling on the red and blue for the first time this weekend.
The group are preparing to face the Western Bulldogs in their season-opener on Saturday night at the MCG.
