LAST WEEK, members were informed of the Club's upcoming Director Election and Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Ahead of the Election and AGM, see below for an overview of frequently asked questions on these matters.

FAQs - Annual General Meeting

How do I vote in the Director Election?

To vote in the Director Election you must lodge your vote online through the email received by CorpVote. To vote in the Director Election you will require your Voter Access Code, which is outlined in the email, as well as your Melbourne Football Club member number, which is also provided below.

Voting for the Director Elections will close at 5pm AEDT on Tuesday 14 February.

Please note there are currently two separate items Members are invited to vote on – the MFC Board Director election and a Members’ Resolution that has been put forward by a group of Members to be considered as part of the upcoming AGM. These are two separate voting processes. To be clear – you cannot vote by proxy in the Director Election.

What if I vote in the Director Election, and then change my mind?

You can only vote once in a Director Election.

What is the Board’s recommendation on who I should vote for in the Director Election?

The Board reviews its composition on a regular basis, including undertaking a rigorous selection process when appointing casual vacancies to ensure that they have the requisite attributes, skills and experience to contribute to the Club. The Board is confident that the incumbent directors (Kate Roffey, David Rennick and Janette Kendall) who have offered themselves for re-election, are best placed to deliver on the Club’s strategic priorities on and off the field. These directors are marked with both the *^ symbols on the election materials.

Further detail on each candidate to assist members in casting their vote in the Director Election can be found here.

Why is it important that I vote in the Director Election?

The responsibility of the Board is to establish the strategic direction, alignment, priorities and cultural expectations of the Club. These foundations guide the broader activities of the Club’s staff, coaches, and players; and the Directors and their specific skills sets are critical to the successful delivery of expectations.

The election of Directors is the members’ opportunity to express your voice on the operation of the Club. Every member is encouraged to cast their vote in the Director Election.

If I have allocated a proxy in the Members’ Resolution, will my proxy vote on my behalf in the Director Election?

No, the Director Election is separate to the Members’ Resolution being put to the AGM.

You cannot allocate a proxy to vote for you in the Director Election, and must complete the process via the email you receive from CorpVote (see further details below) if you wish to vote.

Why am I getting emails from CorpVote?

As agreed by members in the recent Constitutional changes, the Club now has an electronic service for all voting processes. CorpVote is managing the online voting processes for both the Director Elections as well as proxy voting for the Annual General Meeting.

Can CorpVote contact me outside of this?

No

Where is my membership number?

You can find your member number by logging into the official Melbourne Football Club app. It is also provided here for your convenience.
