MELBOURNE is proud to have been the game’s first club, a founding member of the VFL/AFL and now one of the inaugural members of the national women’s league.

Today marks another landmark day as Melbourne has announced its marquee players for the 2017 season: Daisy Pearce and Mel Hickey.

Women’s footy is now part of the fabric of Melbourne.

As part of the club’s participation in the women’s league, Melbourne is committed to establishing a fully integrated and sustainable structure to support an elite female football program, which sits in the football department and is supported by the whole organization – as well as developing pathways and programs for every women and girl who dreams of playing in the AFL.

For its senior women’s team, the club will have a professionally developed program, based at its first-class AAMI Park facility, providing an elite experience for Melbourne players and staff.

It is the club’s ambition to nurture the development of all our players and staff to give them every opportunity to have sustainable careers in the AFL industry, on and off the field.

Don't miss out on being one of the first to sign up and show your commitment to this team by becoming a women’s team foundation member.
