CASEY Scorpions have defeated Sandringham by 65 points at Trevor Barker Beach Oval on Saturday.

Casey sits third on the VFL ladder with six wins and two losses.

The Scorpions 18.15 (123) defeated Sandringham 8.10 (58).

Big man Max Gawn was impressive after being omitted from the senior side this week.

Gawn kicked four goals and provided a strong presence up forward. He also had 39 hit outs in the ruck.

Josh Tynan was also good with 17 disposals and 11 tackles

Youngster Rory Taggert was also outstanding, kicking four goals.

Ball magnet James Magner had 31 disposals and 10 marks.

Tom Couch also won 34 disposals, Sam Blease had 19 touches and James Sellar had 17 possessions.

Blease, Sellar, Couch, Gawn and Taggert were named in Melbourne’s best.

Casey hosts Collingwood at Casey Fields next Saturday at 2pm.
