THE Melbourne Football Club today launch '100% Melbourne', a supporter campaign that focuses on raising money to help the Club’s recruiting efforts during the 2012 trade period.

Melbourne Football Club President, Don McLardy, urged the Melbourne community to get behind the campaign.

“We are building a war chest, and we need the support of our members to take full advantage of the opportunities upon us for the 2012 trade period,” he said.

McLardy made it very clear that the Club would be aggressive in the market place.

“We have the advantage of early picks, and we will be very smart about who we target, and at what cost,” he said.

The Melbourne Football Club has invested significant resources into recruitment, with a strong focus on securing the right players for their premiership model.

“We are really excited about what the trade and draft periods will mean for the Club, and all decisions we make during this time will be crucial. We will be leaving no stone unturned,” McLardy said.

The ‘100% Melbourne’ campaign was first launched last year with a focus on paying 100% of the salary cap, following on from the previous Debt Demolition campaign.

The campaign is an extension of the upcoming Foundation Heroes dinner on Tuesday 21 August, which will see hundreds of the Club’s most influential supporters come together to show their support.
