RUCKMAN Brodie Grundy is officially a Demon, joining Melbourne via a trade with Collingwood on Tuesday afternoon.
The Demons secured the two-time All-Australian and two-time Best and Fairest winner in exchange for pick No.27.
Grundy arrives with a wealth of experience and expertise, having established himself as one of the premier talls of the competition over the past 10 seasons.
At 203cm, he is set to form part of a powerful combination with Melbourne captain Max Gawn.
Melbourne List Manager Tim Lamb said Grundy’s signature was an exciting acquisition for the club and fans alike.
“We are ecstatic to have secured the services of Brodie, it’s not often you can bring such a talented player into the club. ” Lamb told Melbourne Media.
“Brodie has had an outstanding career to date, and is a proven finals performer. We have seen from afar what he is capable of.
The 28-year-old has tallied 177 matches and kicked 60 majors in the black and white.
His efforts across 2018 and 2019 saw him rewarded with the club Best and Fairest Award, alongside selection in the AFL’s prestigious All-Australian side.
Originally from Adelaide, Grundy was drafted in the 2012 National Draft with pick No.18 and made his senior debut the following year.
