MELBOURNE’S successful partnership with The Reach Foundation has continued with the club’s 2022 ‘Round for Reach’ raising a record tally of over $180,000.
Last week, the Demons honoured the legacy of club legend Jim Stynes, who dedicated his life to investing in the youth of Australia by co-founding The Reach Foundation.
Melbourne’s ‘Round for Reach’ encouraged fans to ‘Be Like Jim’ and throw their support behind young Australians. Supporters were able to donate $11 (Jim’s jumper number) and help continue Stynes’ work through the important legacy of The Reach Foundation.
This year’s ‘Be Like Jim’ campaign was a major success with the final tally of more than $180,000, surpassing previous donation records.
The Demons’ Co-Principal Partner Zurich Australia and Major Partner Beyond Bank Australia both contributed significantly to the record tally, each making a $25,000 donations.
This year’s ‘Round for Reach’ marked the fourth consecutive year of support from Zurich, and takes its donation total to $125,000, while Beyond Bank has contributed to the cause in its two years with the club.
Major Partner Haymes Paint was also involved in the fundraising efforts, with their quarter time Kick for Cash raising $5,000 for The Reach Foundation.
All funds raised through the ‘Be Like Jim’ campaign will go directly towards the training and development of Reach workshop facilitators, who will then be able to assist and inspire young Australians, just like Stynes did.
