IN – Brown
OUT – Weideman (omitted)
THE DEMONS have welcomed tall forward Ben Brown back into their starting 22 as the team prepare for a Friday night battle against the Pies.
Simon Goodwin confirmed on Thursday morning that Brown would return to the side after a short stint on the sidelines.
"He's an important player for us," Goodwin said.
"You saw what he was able to do at the back end of last year and his form was really trending (upwards) before he went out of the team with his knee (injury).
"He gives us a real focal point, he's a really smart player, he's a goal kicker and he maximises his opportunities.
"He said this is the best he's felt in probably 12 to 14 weeks…He's feeling 100 per cent and he trained incredibly well the other day.”
Sam Weideman has been omitted from the side while James Harmes, Adam Tomlinson, Jacob van Rooyen and Kade Chandler have been named on the team’s emergency list.
Friday night’s match will mark a special celebration for the Demon faithful, as the club recognises Melbourne great Jim Stynes and The Reach Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation which was co-founded by Stynes in 1994.
Stynes dedicated his life off the field to investing in the youth of Australia and did so through his work at The Reach Foundation, helping people become the best versions of themselves.
Melbourne great Jim Stynes left a powerful legacy on the Australia community through his incredible work with @wearereach. 🙌
