CHAIRMAN Glen Bartlett says “it’s very much about action now” after a strong off-field pre-season.
Speaking at the launch of Melbourne’s new partnership with luxury car brand INFINITI at the MCG on Monday, Bartlett said he was itching for the club’s season to get underway this weekend.
“We just can’t wait for games to start, and everyone is right behind our boys to really step-up this year, starting in round one on Sunday against Geelong,” he told Melbourne Media.
“We know every moment matters and we just can’t wait – the boys have worked incredibly hard and it’s been a great pre-season.
“You always have a few challenges in this business, but overall, it’s been great momentum. The boys are ready, so bring it on – and go Melbourne.”
Bartlett said it had been a strong off-field pre-season, with a profit and some major partners announced.
“It’s been a really positive summer – with a solid $1.4 million profit announced at the AGM last December and then Zurich coming on board [in January this year],” he said.
“A lot of great work has been done across our management team and our board off the field, and this just caps off the start of a great year that’s in front of us.
“It’s massive to form this partnership with INFINITI, something we’re really excited about. Zurich came on board, and we’re really excited about this partnership with INFINITI, and growing our brands together.”
