A raft of returning AFL players will bolster Casey’s line-up for its blockbuster Round 11 clash at the MCG.
Casey’s opponent in Sydney will have to combat the Demons’ strongest side it has named yet this VFL season, with seven players coming into the side for the AFL curtain-raiser contest.
Trent Rivers will play his first VFL match this season after being forced out of Melbourne’s AFL side.
Joining Rivers from Melbourne’s side last week will be Jake Melksham, Luke Dunstan and Sam Weideman.
Majak Daw will return to the starting ruck role after missing with illness in Round 10, but last week’s debutant Josh Smith will keep his spot in the side after an instrumental first performance.
Jacob van Rooyen also returns from illness to strengthen the Demons’ forward line, while Kade Chandler will come back into the VFL fold after his recent AFL suspension.
The seven massive inclusions means there’s some unlucky omissions to the side that beat Frankston last Sunday.
Adam Tomlinson has been selected in Melbourne’s AFL side to take on Sydney, while Fraser Rosman and Roan Steele are out of the side.
Harvey Neocleous, Tyler Edwards, Riley Baldi and Bryce Milford all also come out of the team for Round 11.
If fans can’t get down to the MCG on Saturday afternoon ahead of the AFL match for the clash, they can watch the live stream on the AFL website from 3:45PM.
