MELBOURNE has been rewarded for its strong display against St Kilda on Sunday, with five Demons featuring in the coaches’ votes.
Clayton Oliver topped the list, pushing himself to equal-second on the overall AFLCA leaderboard.
The midfielder received nine votes for his 38-disposal game in which he dominated the contest with 17 contested possessions, eight clearances and six intercepts.
Angus Brayshaw was next up in the Sunday vote-getters, with the wingman turned defender leading the stats sheet. Brayshaw’s 11 intercepts and 13 marks were both game-high numbers, while also finishing the match with 31 disposals and one goal.
Christian Petracca and Ed Langdon both polled five votes each. Petracca continued to be a source of reliability through the midfield, as was Langdon in his role along the wing, collecting a career-high and game-high 39 disposals.
Steven May, who has been a consistent performer for Melbourne in season 2022, was the final Demon to receive votes, polling three for his defensive work.
