AUSTRALIAN Rules and English football have come together at the MCG, with two special guests in tow.
The 2021 AFL premiership cup and the 2020/21 Premier League trophy were front and centre on the hallowed turf last week, as the Demons welcomed Manchester City to Melbourne.
Defenders Steven May and Christian Salem were on hand to greet former City player Joleon Lescott, who is travelling with the trophy as part of a global tour.
The trio exchanged guernseys and memories of past achievements before enjoying a kick-to-kick on the ground.
May, a keen City fan, also shared some insights into all things AFL, and the excitement of playing in front of the Demons faithful at home.
Lescott, who has over 500 league appearances to his name, played for City from 2009 until 2014. He won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and the League Cup during this time.
