INS – Dunstan (club debut), B.Brown, J.Smith
OUTS – Viney, Lever (Health and Safety Protocols), McDonald (omitted)
MELBOURNE has named its final line-up for Sunday night's ANZAC Day Eve match against Richmond.
Luke Dunstan, Joel Smith and Ben Brown have all been welcomed into the Demons’ starting 22, for what is set to be a special game under lights at the MCG.
As announced on Thursday, Jack Viney and Jake Lever will miss the clash through the AFL's Health and Safety protocols, while Tom McDonald (omitted) marks the third change.
McDonald joins Toby Bedford, Adam Tomlinson and Jake Melksham on this week’s emergency list.
The match will be Dunstan’s first game in the red and blue, coming across to the club from St Kilda at the end of last year. The powerful inside-mid will bring plenty of heat to the contest, as the Demons look to get their sixth straight win of the year.
Melbourne is preparing for a tough challenge at its spiritual home, with backline coach Troy Chaplin expecting the Tigers to be at their best.
“They’ve probably been a little inconsistent with a couple quarters here and there that have cost them,” Chaplin told Melbourne Media.
“But you prepare for their best because you know what sort of team they are when they are up and going.
“Our boys are really looking forward to it, we’re looking forward to it as coaches as well, it should be a red-hot game.”
The seventh annual ANZAC Day Eve match will begin at 7:25pm (AEST) following a pre-game ANZAC ceremony at 6:55pm (AEST).
Melbourne will be donning its 2022 ANZAC Day Eve guernsey, which has been designed to honour the brave ANZACs who protect and serve for their country, incorporating a field of poppies as a symbol of remembrance.
Tickets for the blockbuster game are still available, which supporters can purchase here.
