Demons prepare for annual ANZAC Day Eve match 

This year will mark the seventh instalment of the ANZAC Day Eve clash, with the Demons donning a special ANZAC tribute guernsey, designed in collaboration with New Balance, every year since the marquee match’s inception (with the exemption of 2020 when the season was halted due to the COVID-19 lockdown).

The ANZAC Day Eve fixture has become known for its stunning pre-match spectacle; the MCG lights are dimmed and the crowd rises in respectful silence as the Cauldron is lit and a touching rendition of ‘The Last Post’ echoes around the stadium.

Our 2022 ANZAC Day Eve guernsey 

Melbourne has unveiled its 2022 ANZAC Day Eve Guernsey its AFL players will don on Sunday evening.

Working in conjunction with New Balance, the guernsey has been designed to honour the brave ANZACs who protect and serve for their country.

The design incorporates a field of poppies as a symbol of remembrance, while also paying tribute to the club’s past players who lost their lives in World War I and II, with their names emblazoned on the back.

You can purchase your limited edition 2022 ANZAC Day Eve Guernsey here, with a portion of proceeds from each sale donated to the RSL’s ANZAC Appeal.

Public Transport

By train, you can walk to the MCG from Richmond and Jolimont stations.

Multiple tram routes also stop close to the stadium, including the 70 (via Melbourne Park light rail), the 48 and 75 (both Wellington Parade).

With the process for admission including more steps in 2022, we are encouraging fans to arrive early to the MCG to ensure fans are inside in time for the match start.

The entry process includes security bag checks, scanning of ticket and finding your spot to enjoy the game live.

We encourage supporters to download their ticket prior to their arrival at the MCG.
