CASEY FIELDS was the place to be for Demon fans on Saturday.

From morning to night, it was a day filled with football experiences.

Take a look at some of the action from the eventful weekend below.

LITTLE DEMONS’ FOOTY CLINIC
Together with AFL Victoria, Saturday morning saw Melbourne host its first football clinic since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Held at Casey’s indoor training facility, the Little Demons’ Footy Clinic invited local Auskickers from the City of Casey to learn skills and knowledge from AFL experts and Casey’s very own VFLW players.

Participants were then invited to attend Melbourne’s AFLW game and participate in the red and blue guard of honour, taking to the field and cheering on the players as they ran through the Demon Army banner.

CASEY ACADEMY V ALICE SPRINGS ACADEMY CURTAIN RAISER
Next up on the agenda for Casey’s day of footy was Melbourne’s Academy program scratch match.

The Alice Springs Academy made the trip down to Melbourne for the curtain raiser, giving young athletes across the Casey and Alice Springs areas the opportunity to develop their football craft in a game setting.

The Casey Academy were led by AFLW Demon Krstel Petrevski, while the Alice Academy were coached by former St Kilda and Sydney player, Fred Campbell.

AFLW ROUND 5 | MELBOURNE V GOLD COAST
Just hours later, fans were rolling into Casey Fields to show their support at the AFLW’s Round 5 game between Melbourne and Gold Coast.

It was the Demons’ second home game of the season, which they celebrated with a guard of honour filled with young supporters from the Little Demons’ Footy Clinic and the two Melbourne Academies.

The team were joined by two special junior mascots, sisters Issy and Hayley, who got the opportunity to run out alongside their Melbourne heroes.

The game was a fierce contest between the Demons and the Suns, with the home side coming out on top with a 5.8 (38) to 4.2 (26) win.
