INS – Caris, Magee
OUTS – Gay (quad strain), Hanks (AFL Health and Safety Protocols)
MELBOURNE has named its Round 5 side to take on the Suns, with two key changes made to its starting 21.
Star midfielder Tyla Hanks will miss Saturday’s match under the AFL’s Health and Safety protocols, while Maddi Gay has been forced to the sidelines with a quad strain sustained at training on Thursday.
Coming into the team is young Demon Maggie Caris, who will bolster the stocks in the ruck, working alongside the experienced Lauren Pearce.
Lauren Magee has also been named to come into the team after impressing in recent weeks on the training track.
Following a disappointing loss on the road last weekend, Melbourne will be looking to return to the winners’ list come Saturday.
Backline coach Tamara Hyett said the team had spent the week working on key areas to take into the weekend.
“The Suns are a really good contest side, so we’ll have to be switched on at the contest,” Hyett told Melbourne Media.
“We’ll also need to be nice and clean with our fundamentals and make sure we take advantage with some forward half footy.”
Saturday’s game will be Melbourne’s second at home for the 2022 season, with fans encouraged to head down to Casey Fields to cheer on the Dees.
While all the on-field action starts at 7:10pm, an array of giveaways and activities are organised for supporters to enjoy from 6:00pm onwards.
Tickets are still available for the match, so don't miss out and get your ticket today. Adult tickets are just $10 and under 18s go FREE (a free ticket must still be redeemed via Ticketmaster).
