MELBOURNE has ruled Jake Lever out of playing any form of football this weekend, with the key defender deciding to rest his rolled ankle.
There are no concerns surrounding Lever’s knee after returning from his 11-month ACL injury via the VFL over the past two weeks, but the club is taking a cautious approach, giving the Demon a chance to get his body back to 100 percent.
The 23-year-old rolled his ankle in the second quarter of Casey’s loss to Williamstown on Sunday, and after having a run at training on Wednesday, decided not to risk playing this week.
Lever hasn’t been in too much discomfort and will be looking to put his hand up for senior selection in Round 12.
