Season Overview:
In 2020, Pickett experienced his first season at the Demons, debuting in Round 1 and playing a total of 14 games. In this first year, the small forward kicked seven goals, something that he looked to improve upon in 2021.
Working closely with forward coach Greg Stafford, Pickett spent pre-season sharpening his goal-kicking craft. His hard work paid off with the small forward kicking 40 goals throughout his 25 appearances in 2021. Known for his explosive energy and quick skills, Pickett has become a fan-favourite among the Melbourne faithful and has solidified his spot within the Demon forward line. One of his best displays of the season came in Melbourne's Round 5 win over Hawthorn. He was instrumental in the victory, kicking two goals, while collecting 18 disposals and ten score involvements.
Pickett's stellar season was recognised when he was announced as a member of the AFL Player’s Associations 22Under22. The talented youngster was an asset to the side in Melbourne's finals campaign and finished the year off with a premiership win alongside his teammates. At just 20 years of age, Pickett will no doubt bring even more memorable moments in years to come.
