General Manager Football Operations, AFLW & VFL Daniel McPherson will depart Melbourne after eight seasons in the red and blue.
McPherson has taken up a position with the North Melbourne Football Club as the General Manager, Football Performance.
Melbourne CEO Gary Pert thanked McPherson for his contribution to the club over a long period of time and congratulated him on the exciting opportunity.
“This is an outstanding opportunity for Daniel to take on the next challenge in his professional career and one which he has long aspired to,” Pert told Melbourne Media.
“We are really proud of Daniel’s appointment, and we wish he and his family all the best for the future and thank them for their contribution to the club.
“His ability to oversee a number of different professional programs and execute them at an extremely high level is a credit to Daniel and his work ethic.
“Daniel has navigated an extremely difficult time for the club, particularly in the last two years in which the operations of the AFL, AFLW and VFL have all been strongly impacted by the effects of Covid-19.
“Despite these challenges Daniel has ensured the operations of the football department have continued to thrive in ever-changing conditions.”
Initially joining the Demons as the Forward Line coach back in 2014, McPherson made the transition into the Football Operations role following the 2016 season.
Since then McPherson has held several roles overseeing the Football operations, compliance, integrity, AFLW and VFL programs.
