AS ONE SEASON comes to an end, another is just getting started.

Melbourne’s AFLW group will return to the club on Thursday night, with pre-season officially set to kick off at Gosch’s Paddock.

It will mark the beginning of a two-week induction period, where skills sessions will be mixed with a two-kilometre time trial, strength testing and meetings.

For eight Demons, including stars Daisy Pearce and Karen Paxman, it will be their sixth time around, as the competition continues to go from strength to strength.

Recruit Tayla Harris will pull on the red and blue once again, joined by former Cat Olivia Purcell, rookie Eliza West and draftees Georgia Campbell, Tahlia Gillard and Ali Brown in donning new colours.

Having trained together in a reduced capacity recently, Thursday will commence official preparations for 2022.

The season was originally scheduled to start in December but was pushed back to early January.
