Hanks, at only 24, has already impressed as one of the premier midfielders in the AFLW competition.
Drafted by Melbourne with pick No.6 in 2018, Hanks debuted in 2019 and has played in every match except one since her debut. With 61 games under her belt, including two Grand Finals, this young star of the league plays with experience and confidence beyond her years.
Hanks was named the AFLW Rising Star in 2021, and also tied with Paxy Paxman in that year to win the club’s Best and Fairest Award.
Chosen as Vice-Captain by her peers in 2023, Hanks was once again voted best and fairest to win the inaugural Daisy Pearce Trophy with captain Kate Hore.
At the end of 2023, Hanks put pen to paper and signed a long-term four-year deal to keep her at the Dees, meaning she’ll be part of the club’s future for many years to come.
