Selection No.25: Tim Smith
A forward from Casey (Melbourne’s VFL affiliate), the 25-year-old played in the VFL Grand Final against Footscray. He kicked three goals after suffering a corked thigh early in the match. A strong mark, he applies good pressure and is nicknamed ‘The Bull’. Possessing a strong character, he is a genuine competitor. Smith is a plumber by trade.

“Our next selection was Tim Smith, which was a pretty popular selection within the club. He plays at Casey and he’s going to give us some real strength in that forward half. He gives us some aerial presence and some pressure at ground level as well – the way he attacks the ball and with his courage. I think it was very fulfilling for us to give him an opportunity. He’s got great character and we’re looking forward to him coming to the club."
